What types of healthy things can I get for lunch?
Friday, December 16, 2011 at 10:15AM If you have a sit down job, you need to use part of your lunch break as an opportunity to exercise as well as to get a healthy lunch. If you’re going out to buy food, go for an extra walk around the block before you buy lunch.
Healthy takeaway options for lunch include low fat and healthy sandwichs. Hold the spread, which can be a source of saturated fat, and have loads of salad and lean protein like chicken, ham, salmon or tuna on your sandwich. Add low fat yoghurt, a piece of fruit and a bottle of water and you have enough healthy food to keep you going through the afternoon.
If you would like something a little bit more interesting, try one of our Mexican Quesadillas. They are 2 toasted Mexican tortillas pressed together with any of the following 3 types of fillings: Hawaiian (Ham- Cheese- Pineapple- Salsa), Vegetarian (Spinach- Cheese- Tomato- Mushrooms-Salsa) and the Red Chook (Chicken- Semi-dried Tomatoes- Spinach-Salsa). If you are on a strict diet, avoid the cheese option and stick with the Red Chook.
Being the silly season, you may been feeling a bit under the weather from the previous nights activities. If so, we recommend one of our Yiros on Montague. They are a great alternative to McDonalds chips and are much better for you.
